Ministry of Housing and Construction Discusses Ways to Enhance Developmental Cooperation and Institutional Capacity Building with NEPAD Agency

His Excellency the Minister of Housing and Construction, Engineer Essam Al-Tamouni, along with his accompanying delegation and in the presence of the Libyan Ambassador to the Republic of South Africa, Abdulqader Al-Nadhif, witnessed an introductory presentation delivered by officials of the African Union Development Agency (NEPAD). During the presentation, they outlined the agency's mandates and key strategic partnership opportunities with Libyan institutions, focusing specifically on the fields of housing and construction, as well as ways to provide technical support and institutional expertise required to back Libya's national development plans.

The meeting addressed two main pillars: the first focused on enhancing capacity building and qualifying national cadres through specialized and intensive training programs, while the second focused on establishing joint working mechanisms to prepare and develop developmental projects. The discussions concluded with an agreement to provide the ministry's working group with the approved standard template for preparing project proposals in preparation for submitting them to the agency, studying mechanisms for their funding and support, and ensuring the establishment of a practical and sustainable partnership that serves the strategic objectives of both sides.
