Expanded meeting to discuss updating urban plans and addressing dilapidated buildings in Tripoli

The Minister of Housing and Construction Engineer Issam Al Tamuni held an expanded meeting today at the headquarters of the National Authority for Urban Planning in the presence of the Authority head and ministry advisors to discuss a package of strategic urban files

The meeting addressed three main pillars starting with discussing the Authority plans aimed at developing and updating existing urban plans The attendees also reviewed a comprehensive vision for dealing with areas classified as urban underdeveloped neighborhoods which number 26 areas where the Minister emphasized adopting the Ras Hassan Al Lancha area model as a benchmark to be followed in urban development projects

The meeting stressed the need to accelerate the pace of executive procedures to address the situations of dilapidated buildings and ensure public safety The attendees also discussed mechanisms to facilitate the approval of zoning changes related to urban planning

The meeting concluded with an agreement to form a joint technical team including representatives from the Ministry of Housing and Construction the National Authority for Urban Planning and the Tripoli City Development Authority to take on the tasks of supervising the acceleration of the completion of the submitted files and providing periodic reports on the completion rates
