Ministers of Housing and Environment discuss coordinating efforts to enhance urban sustainability

Housing and Reconstruction Minister Eng Issam Al Tumuni and Environment Minister Dr Ibrahim Al Arabi along with advisors from both ministries discussed ways to enhance joint cooperation to integrate environmental standards into housing and reconstruction projects in Libya to ensure the implementation of sustainability standards

The meeting addressed the trend towards building smart neighborhoods and cities to rationalize energy consumption and reduce heat emissions in addition to addressing sewage network bottlenecks and environmental problems in a number of areas through radical solutions that ensure the reduction of pollution and improvement of citizens health conditions

The meeting concluded with an agreement to prepare a memorandum of understanding to frame cooperation and exchange expertise with international organizations and to establish sustainable working mechanisms to implement the targeted projects in a way that supports development efforts in the country
