Minister of Housing and Construction, Engineer Essam Al-Tamouni, met with the Head of the Administrative Control Authority, Mr. Abdullah Qaderbouh, in Tripoli to discuss ways to address the issue of dilapidated buildings in the city center and ensure the safety of their residents.

The meeting addressed the issue of buildings at risk of collapse in several neighborhoods in central Tripoli, given the high urban density and the intermingling of old and dilapidated buildings, which necessitates urgent intervention.

During the meeting, the committee tasked with surveying buildings at risk of collapse in Tripoli, within the Ministry of Housing and Construction, reviewed its findings regarding its duties and responsibilities in this matter. This review aimed to ensure the accuracy of the procedures, enhance the precision of the survey, and standardize the adopted criteria.

The meeting emphasized the need to expedite practical solutions by implementing necessary maintenance and interventions according to approved plans. It also stressed the importance of providing alternative housing or suitable solutions for affected families, depending on their individual circumstances, to alleviate their suffering and ensure their safety.
