Strengthening Libyan-Malaysian cooperation in the field of housing and investment
His Excellency the Minister of Housing and Construction, Eng. Essam Jumaa, received Dr. Mahmoud Al-Tabib, a member of the High Council of State, and the accompanying Malaysian delegation participating in the Tripoli International Fair. The meeting was also attended by the Secretary of the Minister's Office, Mr. Hussein Al-Lafi, and the Ministry's advisors, Mr. Al-Hadi Abu Al-Qasim and Mr. Fathi Faris. The delegation included several prominent figures, among them Ms. Azizah Awang, Head of the Malaysian side of the Libyan-Malaysian Joint Chamber of Commerce (LMBC); Dr. Zaki Al-Qadi, Head of the Libyan side of the Libyan Chamber of Commerce; Mr. Mohammed Al-Rajbani, representative of EPC Tips Global Libya; and the owners of a major investment company.
His Excellency the Minister welcomed the delegation, emphasizing the importance of this meeting in strengthening economic and investment cooperation between the two sides. He affirmed Libya's promising opportunities in the fields of housing, modern cities, and infrastructure, in line with the Government of National Unity's programs aimed at restoring normalcy through reconstruction and revitalizing development in various Libyan cities. The possibility of cooperation in implementing projects and attracting investments in housing projects and modern cities was also discussed. His Excellency welcomed these approaches, emphasizing the state's support for encouraging private investment, both locally and internationally, and its role in driving development and achieving urban stability.
For its part, the Malaysian delegation affirmed the depth of Libyan-Malaysian relations and its readiness to strengthen the partnership with the Libyan side in line with the current reconstruction vision in Libya. They also expressed their willingness to provide various types of consultations in the fields of urban planning, housing projects, and infrastructure. Furthermore, they conveyed the eagerness of Malaysian companies to enter the Libyan market and contribute to the implementation of promising development and investment projects.
