The Minister of Housing and Urban Development witnesses the adoption ceremony of the National Water Security Strategy 2026-2050
Minister of Housing and Construction, Engineer Essam Al-Tamouni, participated in the ceremony for the adoption of the National Water Security Strategy 2026-2050.
The ceremony was attended by Prime Minister Abdul Hamid Dbeibah, who signed the strategy, along with several government ministers, ambassadors to Libya, representatives of international organizations, and experts in the water sector.
In his address, the Prime Minister emphasized that the adoption of this strategy represents a pivotal step in strengthening water security, a cornerstone of national security and a foundation for sustainable development. He stressed that the next phase requires a shift from crisis management to long-term strategic planning to ensure the protection and sustainability of water resources.
The strategy presents a vision for reforming and developing the water sector by supporting modern technological solutions, establishing governance principles, expanding reliance on scientific planning in resource management, promoting a culture of water conservation, and ensuring sustainability for future generations.
The strategy also aims to direct investments in the water sector, strengthen partnerships with the private sector, and expand cooperation with international partners to contribute to supporting water security as one of the most important pillars of stability and development in Libya.
