An expanded meeting chaired by His Excellency the Prime Minister of the National Unity Government, Mr. Abdul Hamid Dbeibah, to follow up on the progress of the National Housing and Real Estate Development Program and its strategic plan 2026–2030.
Prime Minister Abdulhamid Dbeibah, in an expanded meeting held today, Sunday, followed up on the progress of the National Housing and Real Estate Development Program and its 2026-2030 strategic plan, as part of his oversight of the implementation of housing sector plans nationwide.
The meeting addressed the approved sites for housing projects, reviewed the implementation timeline, and discussed the approved technical specifications and design standards to ensure uniformity in execution and adherence to planning regulations.
The Director General of the National Housing Program, Faisal Bin Dardaf, presented a comprehensive overview of the 2026-2030 strategic plan's implementation framework, explaining the methodology for identifying housing needs in various Libyan cities, the phased implementation stages, and the plan's strategic and developmental objectives.
During the meeting, the Prime Minister emphasized the importance of strict adherence to the approved timelines and ensuring close monitoring of all stages of completion to achieve the plan's objectives as outlined in the established vision. He also stressed the need for full adherence to technical and architectural quality standards, and for promoting the principle of balanced project distribution across various cities and regions, while ensuring that housing units are fully equipped with facilities and infrastructure, thus contributing to improved quality of life and achieving sustainability.
In this context, he emphasized the importance of strengthening cooperation and partnership between the Central Bank of Libya and commercial banks to support the financing of housing projects and provide the necessary financial mechanisms, thereby accelerating implementation and ensuring the sustainability of funding for the strategic plan.
