His Excellency the Minister of Housing and Construction, Engineer Essam Al-Tammouni, held an official meeting today with the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Savings Bank, Mr. Abubakr Misbah, and the Director General of the Savings Bank, Mr. Hussein Hammouda, along with ministry advisors. A high-level delegation from the Chinese construction company, China State Construction Engineering Corp. Ltd., also participated.

The delegation included Mr. Zhang Weisai, Assistant General Manager of the Engineering Office; Mr. Huang Changbiao, Deputy General Manager of the company's Libyan branch; Mr. Li Yunfeng, Chief Engineer of the North Africa branch; and Mr. Hu Fushun, Chief Translator of the company's Egyptian branch.

The meeting began with a welcoming address by His Excellency the Minister, who emphasized the strength of bilateral relations between the two countries and the need to enhance them in a way that serves mutual interests and supports development efforts.

The meeting also discussed prospects for cooperation in the fields of investment and construction. The Chinese delegation expressed the company's readiness to undertake new projects in the coming phase, in line with the state's urban development plans. The meeting reviewed the previously signed contract between the Chinese company and the Housing and Infrastructure Projects Implementation Authority for the construction of 20,000 housing units in Benghazi.

The upcoming forum for Arab housing ministers, scheduled for June in Beijing, China, was also discussed. This forum presents a significant opportunity to enhance cooperation and exchange expertise in the housing sector.

At the conclusion of the meeting, discussions focused on avenues for collaboration between the Savings Bank and the Chinese company to support and efficiently implement future housing projects.
