The Minister of Housing and Construction chairs a meeting to discuss visual pollution in Tripoli and support urban landscape improvement programs.

His Excellency the Minister of Housing and Construction, Engineer Essam Al-Tamouni, chaired a meeting today, Tuesday, to discuss visual pollution in the capital, Tripoli, and to support programs for improving the urban landscape. The meeting was attended by the Undersecretary of the Ministry for Affected Areas, Mr. Abdul-Mawla Adhouma, Advisor Al-Hadi Abu-Qasim, Dr. Muhammad Beit Al-Mal, Mr. Abdul-Majid Muhammad, the Director of the Tripoli City Development Authority, Engineer Rajab Al-Dali, and Tripoli Central Municipal Council member, Mr. Ahmed Bourqiqa, in addition to representatives from relevant entities nominated to the committee.

The meeting focused on the phenomenon of visual pollution in Tripoli, specifically the condition of buildings, roads, and parks, and the unsightly image they project.

Attendees emphasized the importance of developing practical solutions to address visual pollution, including improving building facades, organizing roads, and maintaining parks and green spaces. These measures aim to present Tripoli in a more civilized manner, befitting its status and enhancing its tourist and economic appeal. The Minister also stressed the importance of launching awareness programs targeting citizens, to enhance their role as key partners in maintaining the city’s public appearance and raising awareness of the importance of cleanliness and organization, stressing his strong support and complete seriousness in implementing these plans to ensure tangible and sustainable results on the ground.
