Enhancing Regional Cooperation.. Minister of Housing and Construction Discusses Partnership Prospects with the African Cities Network in South Africa
The Executive Director of the African Cities Network in the Republic of South Africa received His Excellency the Minister of Housing and Construction, Engineer Essam Al-Tamouni, and his accompanying delegation, in the presence of the team from the African Union Development Agency (NEPAD), Dr. Mohamed Al-Fadel Gibran, Head of the Standing Committee for Monitoring and Implementing the African Union's Agenda 2063 for Sustainable Development, and Libya's Ambassador to South Africa, Dr. Abdulqadir Al-Nadhif.

The African Cities Network in the Republic of South Africa serves as a coordinating body that links the three levels of government—national, regional, and municipal—and acts as a tool for consensus studies, reviewing programs related to housing and infrastructure, providing services, and monitoring performance effectiveness.

During the meeting, a number of joint files were reviewed, and mechanisms for enhancing regional cooperation and exchanging expertise were discussed. An agreement was also reached to open a direct line of communication with the African Cities Network, in coordination with the NEPAD team, to establish a framework for future cooperation that serves the objectives of sustainable development on the African continent.
